Looking for a quick, easy burger option? Culver’s entered the gluten-free market at all its locations this March with a gluten-free bun. Yay!
For the 2nd day of gluten-free giveaways, I’ll be giving away a $25 Culver’s gift card.
Last week, I went to Culver’s to try out this gluten-free burger option for myself. I’m generally pretty leery of fast-food type restaurants and gluten-free options, so I did my research before we went. After reading up, I decided to order a ButterBurger patty on a gluten-free bun with mashed potatoes (no gravy) on the side.
Culver’s announced, “For guests who order the gluten-free bun, the ButterBurger or sandwich will be served unassembled with a warmed, wrapped Udi’s bun to avoid contact with gluten in the kitchen. Guests assemble their sandwich knowing the bun has not been in contact with gluten-containing ingredients.”
According to Culver’s press release, “Culver’s prides itself in being sensitive to guests’ needs. From an online and in-restaurant allergy guide to the Culver’s app which lists allergens in each menu item, Culver’s makes every effort to ensure guests have all the information they need to make informed decisions.”
I loved assembling my own burger. It felt great knowing Culver’s skipped that step of potential cross-contamination.
If you decide to try this burger, I recommend ordering a double patty because the bun is huge (like Udi’s buns typically are). In order to taste the burger (and not just the bun), you’ve got to get double the meat. It’s a must.
It’s important to note that there is no guarantee cross-contamination won’t occur on the grill, and I didn’t order the fries because I wasn’t confident they didn’t use a shared frier. As always, use your best judgement when it comes to your health and dining out. Ask to speak with a restaurant manager if you have additional questions.
